Tug o' War

DSC02009.JPG
Yesterday morning two boys came into our class with a huge box. It's a mystery I think. "Thank boys", Mrs Ellis exclaimed. What is it, we all wondered. It's a tug o' war rope Mrs Ellis explained. We ambled outside to measure the rope for maths So we got out on the field and lay the tug o'war rope on the ground.  We guessed how long the rope was without any measuring tools. So we all started to measure the rope with our feet. Most people thought about 30 metres. I got to test how long the rope actually was. I got given the wheel and Mrs Ellis explained that each time it clicked I had to put my hand up and we would count another meter. After that I start to measure 1 2 3.. and we counted up to 30 metres.
"Now we can have a game", Mrs Ellis declared. So she sorted us out into teams. 3 2 1 Go she shouted. We heaved but the other team heaved more and they won. We had a second round and they won again. But it still was fun.
